As parents, we all wonder why there are so many more kids with learning issues and behavioral problems than there ever seemed to be when we were kids. The more we all acknowledge that these disorders are everywhere, among both kids and adults, the easier it is to get help for all of us. Here are six common disorders in United States with an idea of how truly prevalent they are.
By MomsLifesavers posted May 8, 2008 You've addressed a big issue here and I would love for you to expand on your thought on this. It is very hard to lump these 6 "disorders" together as I don't agree that all of them are "disorders" at all...learning disablities I don't think should be mentioned as such (putting on my teachers hat!).
Many of the issues you point out come in slow increments...and it takes a village of professionals and parents at times to come to the understanding of what is really going on in young children and young adults to best help them.
This post may alarm some, as we all can feel like we have one or more of these issues, but I want to stress that they are not all "disorders" that seems a little extreme to me...just my opinion.
