Houghton's Pond is a great escape during the summer.  They have lifeguards on duty on the large section of beach.  There is a division on the beach where there is a "toddler" section and children can wade in knee deep water.  The entire beach is ropped off for swimming.  There is a concession stand and restrooms available - very convenient.  There is also a large playground area with swings, slides, and climbing gyms.  It is a nice place to take in the sun and enjoy the outdoors.  Lots of wildlife to enjoy - look out for the geese - they are very brave and will come right over when you take out your lunch!  There are also hiking trails, BBQ and picnic tables available.
